Most Portfolio Managers Shun Their Own Funds
New Investment News article explains that most fund managers do not have any stake at all in the funds they manage. What’s up with that? Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts about this topic.

its the old walk the walk and talk the talk. I am not surprised that 51% of all the fund managers don’t eat the food at their own restruant.

They obviously don’t have faith in their management ability! The article should have delved into where these managers do speculate and gamble with their $

No skin in the game? No confidence in their own “Stock picking magic?”
Not surprising…
Thanks for sharing this Mark

Several Years ago, I went to two mutual fund family presentations, Franklin Templeton and Putman. I asked both fund managers where their money was. The successor to John Templeton said his money was in the fund he ran. The other manager said he had no money in the fund he ran. Before I came to Matrix, guess where I put family and client money? Templeton Growth. Known this for a long time.

This is a “Featured Article” on my web site right now. I can’t believe that some of these managers won’t invest in their own fund! MY whole family is invested in our “Free Market Funds”, every dime we own. If you don’t believe then how do you recommend to your clients!!!

Seems obvious. We were completely invested before we advised any clients to do the same.
Integrity.

If I cant practice what I preach ie build a broadly global diversified portfolio with no stock picking or market timing allowed then how can I look my clients in the eye when making a recommendation.

Mark,
It is hard to believe anyone would want to invest anywhere else. All of my family have their investment accounts with Matrix.
Thanks for helping us make this so easy.
On a worthwhile mission.

What a sham! No real surprise.

Not surprising at all. No integrity in their work, go figure. For me and mine, we have ours in the free market funds. For our equity fund positions there is no other.

Practice what you preach or get off the pulpit! Great stuff!

well said mark! so, what you are saying here is about 50% of funds managers do not believe in (invest in) what they want other people to invest in. what a joke. i hope this fact makes it in your new book! as always, thanks for the great message.

The great mutual fund sham continues and as more details emerge the sham gets bigger and bigger.

Are they worried about “conflict of interest?”
